How Can You Help Your Friend's New Business?

Your friend or family member has a new business.  How can you help?  What if you don't need the product or services they're selling?  As new business owner, I can tell you, it means the world to us when friends and family find anyway they can to contribute to our success.

I have always done interior design and staging projects but I've only recently gone pro.  Without a portfolio to help sell my services I had to reach out to family and friends for help.  Granted I'm working for free to get the pics, I am still spending their money.  I cannot tell you how grateful I am that they have trusted me and allowed me the opportunity to create spaces that show my expertise.  This is a huge help to my business. Of course, not everyone I know needs or wants design services.  So how can they help me to grow?

You may have noticed that I post on social media.  My new projects, my blog, and my art are all ways I draw attention to my business.  Social media platforms are a great way to promote your business but your reach is limited without the help of friends, family, and followers.  One of the biggest ways you can help to share, comment, and like posts.  And, it's free!  This may seem tedious to some of you or may seem too easy.  This one thing could mean that busness owners finally start reaching the audience they need to see their businesses grow.  To my freinds and family that do this for me,I see it and I am so grateful!
I know that I look for the posts my entrepnuer friends make on social media just for the purpose of sharing, liking, and commenting but I'm not asking you to spend a lot time doing that.  When you see it in your news feed it only takes a second to do those things but the pay off could be huge!

Another way to help , if you have purchased the products or services, is to leave a review.  When I go to spend my money I look at reviews.  I need to know what others thought of the product or service and reviews make a big difference.
If you know of someone needing the services or products we sell, then give us a referral.  Much like a review, it can be an assurance to the client that you are worth the price!

Networking events!  I'm having to start my business on a shoestring budget while working a full time job.  Most networking events are during business hours and I cannot get away.  If you know of networking events or are part of a network group that has later or weekend meetings then let us know!  Also, as a designer/ home stager, I always need to know who my contractors, GC's, cleaning crews, photographers and movers are in the area.

And last, but not least; we need your encouragement.  I'm not sure I ever heard the term, "imposter syndrome" before i started my business but I sure do understand why people use it.  I have had a crisis of confidence on a  regular basis. How could I possibly believe I can do this?  The answer is simple: I have been doing it and doing it very well.  Now I need to be patient and trust  that if God got me here, He's gona see me through it.

I want to sincerely thank everyone that participated in any way to help me grow.  Please know that it has not gone unnoticed or unappreciated.  I will always do the same for you as well!
