Embracing the Classics: Why Traditional Design Is Making a Comeback and I'm Here For It

So often I'm asked, "What's the latest design trend?".  That's no longer an easy answer; and I'm loving it.

We are seeing the prevailing design choices in magazines start to mimic real life. A realistic mix of styles where homeowners can represent all the pieces they love in a cohesive design plan.  I'm not talking about ecclectic, either.

We are moving away from millenial gray.  While a solid color choice it could leave some spaces feeling cold or sterile.  People want warmth back.  We are seeing the shift to richer colors like brown, burgundy, and raisin.  We want to feel nature inside of our homes with warm wood tones and mossy greens.  Nostalgia is showing up big with the evolution from Modern Farmhouse to Modern Cottage.  Thrifted pieces paired with contemporary furnishings.  Rounder edges and lots of texture.  In a time of turmoil all you want is comfort and the shift in design represents all that makes us feel good.

The swivel chair is no longer just a staple of the 70's.  With softer edges and great fabrics they have come roaring back as the versatile seating choice for entrertainment and conversation areas.  That marble top wooden buffet that belonged to your grandmother can have a new home in your dining room combined with a contemporary dining table, sleek dining chairs, and a chandelier that is nothing short of a statement piece. Brass candlesticks and milk glass vases can be displayed on your modern stone coffee tables while thrifed floral oil paintings cover your color-drenched walls.  It all comes together to wrap you up like warm hug.

I bet you're wondering how to get there.  How do you make your home feel this way?  I can help!  While I sincerely love all design styles transitional is my favorite.  Bringing together the old and the new.  Call Cu29 Designs today and we'll bring your vision to life.  Your warm hug awaits you :)
